Prayer underpins our whole church life, individuals pray, groups pray, we pray in our worship, in small groups, and in all our activities. Below are some opportunities to pray with others and some ‘intercessions’ you might like to use along with our monthly prayer card. There are many fantastic websites to help us pray, such as thy kingdom come and 24-7 prayer.
Parish prayer meeting
On the first Monday evening of each month, 8-9pm at the Church of The Good Shepherd. Come and pray with us for our world, church and those in need.
We meet on the first and third Tuesday morning of each month in the Emmaus Chapel from 9-9:30am to pray for our Parish. Individual requests welcome and we often focus prayers for families and children.
Discipleship network prayer
The first Friday morning of each month, 8-8:30am there is a meeting to listen to God and pray for discipleship. Contact Diane Davidson for more details.
Pyrford primary prayer
We are going to do be doing 8 EXPLORE TOGETHER sessions on Mondays after school at the church starting 13th May 3:15-4:30pm, including prayer and worship.
An opportunity to experience the Bible in a deeper way as part of our current focus on prayer. Meditative prayer will be offered in the Emmaus Chapel from 9.00-9.30am on the 3rd Saturday of every month. This will involve a led meditation on a gospel passage where we use our imaginations to enter more deeply into the scripture and encounter God in a personal way. Any questions please contact Diane Davidson or Caroline Oldroyd.
There are a number of people who pray together regularly in partnerships or prayer triplets. If you are interested in doing this contact Caroline Oldroyd for more details.
Prayer is part of all our services and we have intercessions in our noticesheet where individuals can be mentioned. There is also a monthly prayer card with ideas to help you pray.
